Privacy Policy

What the app collects

Nothing. Tāl Chakra does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The app runs entirely on your device. The 16 tāl definitions, tabla audio samples, glossary, and tihāī presets are all bundled with the app, so no network connection is needed to use any feature.

No analytics, no tracking

The app contains no analytics SDKs, no telemetry, no crash reporting services, no advertising frameworks, and no third-party tracking libraries. Nothing about how you use the app ever leaves your device.

Settings and preferences

Your preferences (selected tāl, tempo, drone key, haptic mode, display settings) are saved locally on your device in UserDefaults (Apple's standard local settings store). They never leave the device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

Audio and haptics

Tāl Chakra plays audio through your device's speakers or connected audio output, and may trigger haptic feedback on supported devices. Neither microphone access nor the camera is requested or used.

The website (tal.asv.pt)

Contact form

If you use the contact form on this website, the information you submit (your name, email address, and message) is transmitted over HTTPS to our server and delivered to the author's inbox using Resend, a transactional email service. Your submission is used solely to respond to your enquiry. It is not stored in a database, not shared with any third party, and not used for marketing.

To prevent abuse the server keeps a short-lived, in-memory count of recent submissions per IP address (reset on every server restart). This rate-limit data is not persisted to disk and is not used for any other purpose.

Cookies, tracking pixels, fonts

None. This website sets no cookies, loads no third-party scripts, serves no advertising, and uses no tracking pixels or remote fonts. All assets are served from tal.asv.pt itself.

Server logs

The web server (Apache) records standard access logs containing IP address, request path, user-agent, and timestamp. This is the minimum required for operating a web service and investigating abuse. Logs are kept briefly and are never shared with third parties.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold about you, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Since we don't keep a user database, the only personal data we may hold is the contents of a message you sent through the contact form. To request deletion, write to marc@asv.pt.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear at this URL with a revised date. Material changes will be summarised on the site's front page.
